Brisbane Medieval Fayre
Today I went on my annual pilgrimage to the Medieval Fayre. This event has been running in Brisbane for about 20 years and I guess I've been going for just about that long. I was trying to work it out but I can't be sure what year I first went. It was probably 1987 but could have been a year either side of that.
A broad range of re-enactment groups, artisans, entertainers and folk generally interested in history (or doing a bit of wassailing) meet at a park right on the fringe of Brisbane's CBD for a couple of days of fun. Usually the Fayre is held in June but this year was run earlier to avoid clashes with other events.
A great event as usual. Thousands in attendance. See my photo album uploaded today.

I do so like a good fair !

Cool photos! It looks and sounds like fun. I had to look up 'wassailing', though :-)
